WEEK 2 RECAP: NO UPSETS. JUST BEATDOWNS.
By Pro Zone Gaming DivisionPresented by Pro Zone Gaming
âThe Dawgs Are Barkinâ, the Nittany Lions Are Stampedinâ, and the Ducks Are Flyinâ High.â
Week 2 in For The Gusto wasnât about surprises it was about statements. The top dawgs came to eat, and everybody else was on the menu.No upsets. No flukes. Just pure domination across the board.
đ¶ Georgia Sends a Message
Final: Georgia 45 â Notre Dame 21 The Bulldogs looked like a team on a mission â a championship mission. Georgiaâs defense choked out the Irish offense, allowing just 7 points through three quarters and holding them to 23 carries for only 24 rushing yards.
The Dawgsâ front seven looked like something out of the Steel Curtain era, and Gunner Stockton had his offense humming. With that kind of balance, Georgia might just be the team to beat.
đŠ Penn State Tramples Texas
Final: Penn State 73 â Texas 58 Everythingâs bigger in Texas â including this loss. Penn Stateâs ground game was untouchable, running wild from whistle to whistle.
Nicholas Singleton:Â 18 carries, 173 yards, 2 TDs
Quinton Martin Jr.:Â 12 carries, 110 yards, 3 TDs
Team Total:Â 305 rushing yards
When the Lions start running downhill like that, good luck stopping them. Texas kept it flashy, but Penn State kept it physical â and walked out of Austin with a Top 5 road win.
đŠ Oregon Ducks Soar in Death Valley
Final: Oregon 63 â LSU 45 Oregon came into Death Valley with one goal: make a statement. And they did â in all caps. The Ducks forced Garrett Nussmeier into 4 interceptions, and that defensive pressure flipped the entire script in the second half.
Wideout Evan Stewart put on an absolute clinic:đŻ 9 receptions, 189 yards, 1 TD â just unguardable. The Ducks outscored LSU 39â17 in the second half, showing the kind of closing power championship teams have.
đ Alabama Rolls Big Behind âJamâ Miller
Final: Alabama 58 â Kansas State 31 If you didnât know the name Jam Miller before this week⊠you do now.
The Crimson Tideâs star back shredded Kansas State with a highlight reel performance:
25 carries, 244 yards, 3 TDs on the ground
3 receptions, 63 yards, 1 TD through the air
Miller was unstoppable â running, catching, breaking ankles â and his 300+ total yards secured him as Week 2âs Offensive Player of the Week.
