This week is packed with a variety of new game releases across genres – from an epic space station odyssey to a cozy garden sim. Whether you're into strategic stealth, high-speed racing, or mind-bending puzzles, there’s something for everyone. Let’s dive into the big titles hitting your screens this week (April 7th through 13th, 2025) and see what each game has in store.

IXION (PS5, Xbox Series X|S) – April 8, 2025

(IXION PS5 And Xbox Series S/X Launch Heads To Space During April 2025 - GameSpace.com)Image: The Tiqqun space station in IXION, humanity’s last hope among the stars.

Humanity’s survival goes orbital in IXION, a sci-fi city-building strategy game that puts you in charge of the Tiqqun space station. Originally launched on PC to positive reviews, IXION now comes to consoles, mixing deep resource management with a gripping narrative of survival in space (IXION PS5 And Xbox Series S/X Launch Heads To Space During April 2025 - GameSpace.com). As Earth falls to ecological collapse, the DOLOS corporation tasks you with finding a new home for mankind. That means constructing and expanding your space station, managing crew needs, and keeping the ship intact amid the dangers of outer space (IXION PS5 And Xbox Series S/X Launch Heads To Space During April 2025 - GameSpace.com). One slip-up—like a hull breach or running out of resources—and it’s game over for your crew.

In gameplay terms, IXION will have you build out station sectors, unlock new facilities, and make tough decisions as you explore star systems for resources and hope (IXION PS5 And Xbox Series S/X Launch Heads To Space During April 2025 - GameSpace.com) (IXION PS5 And Xbox Series S/X Launch Heads To Space During April 2025 - GameSpace.com). Expect a mix of Frostpunk-style crisis management (in the cold vacuum of space) and narrative events that test your leadership. The game is developed by Bulwark Studios and published by Kasedo Games (IXION PS5 And Xbox Series S/X Launch Heads To Space During April 2025 - GameSpace.com). If you’re up for the challenge of saving humanity among the stars, you can check out the official trailer on YouTube (showcasing the PS5/Series X|S edition) or visit the game’s website for more info (IXION PS5 And Xbox Series S/X Launch Heads To Space During April 2025 - GameSpace.com).

South of Midnight (PC, Xbox Series X|S) – April 8, 2025

South of Midnight is a new action-adventure title that spins a dark Southern Gothic fairy tale. Developed by Compulsion Games (the team behind We Happy Few) and published by Xbox Game Studios, this game stands out immediately with its stop-motion-inspired art style and folktale vibe (South of Midnight - Wikipedia). You play as Hazel, a young woman who discovers an ancient weaving magic after a hurricane devastates her hometown in the Deep South. Pulled into a mystical alternate reality, Hazel must use her newfound weaving powers to mend the fabric of this world (literally) and confront creatures from local folklore known as “Haints” (South of Midnight - Wikipedia).

Gameplay is third-person action-adventure with a focus on exploration, combat, and puzzles. Hazel’s weaving abilities let her manipulate the environment and even the enemies – think creative magic-driven solutions on top of your standard action gameplay (South of Midnight - Wikipedia). The world of South of Midnight is a “dark modern folktale,” meaning it’s rich with story and character. As Hazel, you’ll meet memorable mythical beings, uncover family secrets, and restore the “Grand Tapestry” that holds reality together (South of Midnight - Wikipedia). The tone is mysterious but not horror – more like a spooky adventure through folklore with heart and soul. South of Midnight launches on PC and Xbox Series X|S (day one on Game Pass as an Xbox exclusive). You can watch the official launch trailer on the Xbox YouTube channel, which highlights the game’s haunting bayou atmospheres and blues-inspired soundtrack.

Tiny Garden (PC) – April 8, 2025

("Create your own idyllic space in Tiny Garden , coming April 8 on PC" - Games Press)Image: Tiny Garden invites you to cultivate a pocket-sized magical garden at your own pace.

If you’re looking for something calming and casual-friendly, Tiny Garden might be your jam. This is a heartwarming gardening sim mixed with light puzzles and strategy, developed by indie studio Ao Norte and published by Super Rare Games. The premise is delightfully whimsical: you inherit a tiny magical toy – a family heirloom – that unfolds into a pocket-sized garden you can tend and customize ("Create your own idyllic space in Tiny Garden , coming April 8 on PC" - Games Press). There’s a gentle story to uncover through letters (previous owners of the toy have left their notes), but the core of the game is about creativity and relaxation.

In Tiny Garden, you’ll grow a variety of plants and flowers and even trade your harvest for cute furniture and decorations to personalize your little garden world ("Create your own idyllic space in Tiny Garden , coming April 8 on PC" - Games Press). It’s a “cozy game” through and through: no scores, no time limits, and no wrong choices – just experiment, decorate, and let your creativity bloom ("Create your own idyllic space in Tiny Garden , coming April 8 on PC" - Games Press). The gameplay blends farming, puzzle-solving, and strategy in a chill way. For example, each plant might have unique mechanics or puzzle-like interactions, and each day in-game can reveal new surprises or discoveries. There’s no pressure at all; Tiny Garden encourages you to unwind and explore at your own pace ("Create your own idyllic space in Tiny Garden , coming April 8 on PC" - Games Press). With its colorful toy-like diorama art style and soothing soundtrack, this PC release (Steam) could be a perfect wind-down game. (No official trailer link available yet, but the Steam page features a charming teaser video.)

Commandos: Origins (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S) – April 9, 2025

The classic stealth strategy series Commandos is back with Commandos: Origins, and it’s bringing World War II tactical action to a new generation. Developed by Claymore Game Studios and published by Kalypso Media, this installment is actually a prequel/origin story for the iconic Commandos unit (Commandos: Origins launches April 9 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC; later in 2025 for PS4 and Xbox One - Gematsu). In terms of gameplay, expect the familiar real-time tactical stealth formula: you control a squad of elite soldiers, each with specialized skills, and you need to infiltrate enemy territory, sabotage targets, and outsmart the Nazis with cunning and teamwork.

Commandos: Origins features six playable characters – the Green Beret, Sapper, Sniper, Driver, Marine, and Spy – all the classic heroes from the original games (Is Commandos Origins on Game Pass? - XboxEra). Each Commando has unique abilities and tools, so success means using the right man for the job (and often coordinating two or more simultaneously). The missions will take you across various WWII scenarios, from Arctic bases to desert outposts, with open-ended objectives that you can tackle via multiple paths (Is Commandos Origins on Game Pass? - XboxEra). You can sneak in the shadows, set traps, drive vehicles, or go in guns blazing (not usually recommended!) (Commandos: Origins launches April 9 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC; later in 2025 for PS4 and Xbox One - Gematsu) (Is Commandos Origins on Game Pass? - XboxEra). Notably, Origins modernizes the user experience with refined controls for smooth squad coordination (Commandos: Origins launches April 9 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC; later in 2025 for PS4 and Xbox One - Gematsu).

Another exciting feature is co-op multiplayer – you can team up with a friend in 2-player online or local split-screen co-op to tackle the missions together (Commandos: Origins launches April 9 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC; later in 2025 for PS4 and Xbox One - Gematsu) (Is Commandos Origins on Game Pass? - XboxEra). Also, good news for Xbox users: the game is available Day One on Game Pass for both console and PC (Is Commandos Origins on Game Pass? - XboxEra). Commandos: Origins launches April 9 digitally (with older-gen console versions coming later in the year). If you’re a fan of tactical stealth or just curious about this genre, be sure to watch the official gameplay trailer which showcases the tense strategic action and some of the inventive ways you can outwit enemy patrols.

Blue Prince (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S) – April 10, 2025

(Blue Prince is Arriving on April 10th - Raw Fury)Image: The ever-changing Mt. Holly manor in Blue Prince, where each door you open can lead to a new surprise.

One of the week’s most intriguing indie releases is Blue Prince, a genre-defying mix of mystery, strategy, and puzzle adventure. Developed by Dogubomb and published by Raw Fury, Blue Prince drops you into Mt. Holly, a sprawling old mansion with a mind of its own. You play as the heir to this bizarre manor, and your goal is to find the fabled “Room 46” hidden somewhere within. The twist? The mansion’s layout reshuffles itself every in-game day, so every time you venture inside, the rooms can appear in a different configuration ("Raw Fury’s Blue Prince Launches April 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Windows" - Games Press)!

In gameplay terms, Blue Prince is all about “drafting” your path through the mansion’s rooms. When you come to a door, you choose what room goes next – but choose wisely, because each room presents unique challenges, resources, or secrets, and they might help or hinder your progress ("Raw Fury’s Blue Prince Launches April 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Windows" - Games Press). You’ll encounter puzzles, traps, and story clues in these chambers. Thankfully, some progress carries over: you can discover permanent upgrades (blueprints) that stay with you even after the mansion resets at dawn, gradually improving your odds of reaching deeper secrets ("Raw Fury’s Blue Prince Launches April 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Windows" - Games Press) ("Raw Fury’s Blue Prince Launches April 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Windows" - Games Press). The game combines compelling mystery and puzzle elements to create an unpredictable, atmospheric journey through the manor’s 45+ shifting rooms ("Raw Fury’s Blue Prince Launches April 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Windows" - Games Press).

Story-wise, expect a bit of a Victorian gothic mystery – there are threads of blackmail, political intrigue, and the tale of a missing children’s book author woven into the mansion’s history ("Raw Fury’s Blue Prince Launches April 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Windows" - Games Press). It’s the kind of narrative you piece together by exploring and reading notes, rather than upfront cutscenes. Blue Prince arrives April 10 on PC and current consoles, and notably it’s included on day one for Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium members ("Raw Fury’s Blue Prince Launches April 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Windows" - Games Press). If you’re curious, watch the official release date trailer (Raw Fury has it on their YouTube) to get a sense of the game’s unique “architectural adventure” vibe ("Raw Fury’s Blue Prince Launches April 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Windows" - Games Press).

Crashlands 2 (PC, iOS, Android) – April 10, 2025

(Crashlands 2 - The MIX)Image: A colorful alien biome in Crashlands 2, where crafting and creature-taming await on planet Woanope.

Get ready for some zany crafting adventure – Crashlands 2 is finally here! This is the sequel to the 2016 cult-favorite Crashlands, and it continues the series’ blend of open-world action RPG and crafting with a big dose of humor. Developer Butterscotch Shenanigans brings us back to planet Woanope as Flux Dabes (the intergalactic trucker protagonist from the first game) makes a return (Crashlands 2 Arriving in April - RPGamer). In the story, Flux comes back on vacation – only to crash land (yet again) due to a mysterious blast from the planet’s surface. Next thing you know, you’re stranded in a new region of Woanope, far from your friends and smack in the middle of an alien wilderness full of quirky characters (Crashlands 2 Arriving in April - RPGamer).

Crashlands 2 is a comedic open-world crafting RPG, meaning you’ll be exploring, fighting creatures, and collecting tons of resources to craft all sorts of gadgets. The game lets you create weapons, armor, gadgets and even elixirs that grant abilities, allowing you to tailor your playstyle – whether you prefer setting traps and fighting from a distance or charging in with melee attacks (Crashlands 2 Arriving in April - RPGamer). You’ll also build up a home base that you can upgrade and decorate, Pokémon-style raise adorable pet creatures, and form friendships with NPC allies who can give you quests or help out (Crashlands 2 Arriving in April - RPGamer). All the while, there are underlying mysteries on Woanope to investigate (expect a funny sci-fi story with lots of tongue-in-cheek writing, as is Crashlands’ signature).

Notably, Crashlands 2 supports cross-platform saves, so you can play on PC and pick up on mobile (or vice versa) seamlessly (Crashlands 2 Arriving in April - RPGamer). The game launches on Steam for PC, and on iOS and Android app stores simultaneously (with a premium price, no free-to-play shenanigans). If you enjoyed the original Crashlands or like games such as Don’t Starve but wish they were more story-driven and goofy, this is one to check out. The official release trailer (on Butterscotch’s YouTube) gives a great overview of the crafting, combat, and some of the wacky aliens you’ll meet on your adventure (Crashlands 2 Arriving in April - RPGamer).

Monster Energy Supercross 25 (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S) – April 10, 2025

(Monster Energy Supercross 25 - Games - Milestone)Image: Monster Energy Supercross 25 brings the 2025 AMA Supercross season to life with enhanced realism and customization.

Racing fans, rev up your engines – Monster Energy Supercross 25 is the official video game of the 2025 Supercross season, and it’s launching this week. Developed and published by Milestone (known for their many racing sims), this year’s edition is actually something of a reboot/refinement after a short break. It’s exclusive to new-gen hardware and PC, and comes packed with improvements. For starters, the game runs on Unreal Engine 5 now, which means a redesigned physics system and dynamically deforming tracks for a more realistic ride (Monster Energy Supercross 25 - Games - Milestone). Every jump and turn will feel closer to the real thing as dirt tracks wear down and form ruts during a race.

All the official 2025 Supercross riders, bikes, and tracks are included, with tracks faithfully replicating the real-world season venues (Monster Energy Supercross 25 - Games - Milestone). You can race through the official championship in career mode or take it online. Multiplayer gets a boost this year with full cross-play support – Xbox, PlayStation, and PC racers can all compete against each other, so the online community won’t be split by platform (Monster Energy Supercross 25 - Games - Milestone). There’s also an expanded track editor and new customization options. In past entries you could design your own tracks, and now Supercross 25 ups the ante by letting you customize more aspects (the Milestone press info hints at new editing tools beyond just tracks and helmets) (Monster Energy Supercross 25 - Games - Milestone). If you love tweaking and sharing custom tracks or bike setups, this game has you covered.

Visually, expect a nice upgrade: better lighting, detailed textures, and smoother stadium atmospheres thanks to the UE5 engine jump. The game supports up to 12 players in online races (Monster Energy Supercross 25 - Games - Milestone), and you can of course do single-player championships, time trials, and other modes. Monster Energy Supercross 25 launches April 10 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam/Epic). The official trailer shows off some of the new rider animations and how ruts form on the track in real-time – a treat for motocross enthusiasts. If you’re a fan of dirt biking or just want a taste of Supercross adrenaline, this is the title to check out, especially after the series’ one-year hiatus (the last entry was 2023’s Supercross 6, making this a return with fresh features).

The Talos Principle: Reawakened (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S) – April 10, 2025

Last but not least, we have The Talos Principle: Reawakened, which is a complete modernization of the acclaimed 2014 puzzle-adventure The Talos Principle. If you missed it the first time, Talos Principle is often mentioned in the same breath as Portal – it’s a first-person puzzle game set in a gorgeous world, with a deep philosophical story about artificial intelligence and humanity. Reawakened is essentially the definitive edition of that game, rebuilt and expanded for 2025. Croteam (the original developer) and Devolver Digital have rebuilt the game in Unreal Engine 5, meaning the visuals are significantly upgraded with richer lighting and detail, and they’ve added modern quality-of-life improvements to smooth out the experience (The Talos Principle: Reawakened launches April 10 - Gematsu). From ancient ruins to futuristic simulations, every environment looks more immersive than ever.

Crucially, Reawakened isn’t just a graphical remaster – it includes all-new content on top of the original campaign (The Talos Principle: Reawakened launches April 10 - Gematsu). You get the full story from the original Talos Principle plus the Road to Gehenna expansion, and a brand-new chapter called “In the Beginning” that delves into the origins of the simulation within the story (The Talos Principle: Reawakened launches April 10 - Gematsu). This new chapter has players experience the first-ever human trial in the simulation, adding new puzzles and narrative layers for even veteran players to explore. The result is a much expanded storyline that still poses thought-provoking questions about consciousness and the human condition (The Talos Principle: Reawakened launches April 10 - Gematsu).

Of course, the core of the game remains its brilliant puzzle design. You’ll be solving a wide array of logic puzzles involving things like lasers, switches, jammers, and environmental manipulation – all while an enigmatic voice guides you and ancient texts make you ponder philosophical dilemmas. For the creatively inclined, Reawakened also includes a built-in Puzzle Editor tool, officially supported by the developers, so players can create and share their own puzzles and environments (The Talos Principle: Reawakened launches April 10 - Gematsu). This should give the game a healthy modding community and virtually endless challenges beyond the main story.

Whether you’re new to The Talos Principle or looking to revisit it in a fresh way, Reawakened looks like the ultimate package. It launches April 10 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S (with a free demo available on Steam as of this writing, in case you want to try a few puzzles first (The Talos Principle: Reawakened launches April 10 - Gematsu)). Be sure to watch the new “Release Date Trailer” for Talos Principle: Reawakened – it showcases the improved graphics and teases some of the mind-bending puzzles awaiting you (The Talos Principle: Reawakened launches April 10 - Gematsu). This one’s a must-play for puzzle game fans and anyone who appreciates games that make you think and have fun doing it.
