🎮 GAMING UPDATE – Grand Theft Auto VI DELAYED AGAIN

In their statement, Rockstar said the extra time is all about delivering “the level of polish you expect and deserve.” Take-Two echoed that, saying Rockstar has their full support and they’re confident this will be a blockbuster entertainment experience.

When asked about what changed since the original Fall 2025 target, CEO Strauss Zelnick said:

“It’s- it’s all of 2025. We’ve had more time to develop the title. … We’re grateful that it’s still within the same fiscal year. And mostly we’re grateful to Rockstar for constantly seeking perfection.”

🕹 A bit of context – Why this isn’t totally unexpected

• The game was previously delayed from Fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. The Guardian+1

• Looking back, Rockstar has a history of delays:

So while the wait stings, it’s part of the pattern.

🔍 What this means for us gamers

• More patience required. The game is still “within the fiscal year” for Take-Two, but it’s a longer runway than many expected.

• Quality over speed. Rockstar’s message is clear: they’d rather delay than release something undercooked.

• Hype remains massive. With a November 2026 date, this doesn’t dampen the expectation in fact, the pressure might be even higher.

• Manage expectations now. If you were counting on playing it sooner, you’ll need something to tide you over (hello backlog).
